Design Express

Principle-based design is like the skeleton key of hair skills – with the principles in your pocket, you can do ANYTHING. This Express package doesnt replace Design & Finishing or the Design Playbook, or Superstar Educator, but it’s everything you need to get started facilitating right now.

1. Hair first and ask questions later. Every class is a little different, but we imagine you’ll play the demonstration video, then send your learners out to their mannequins, then being them back to debrief their discoveries. This has been shown to boost understanding by as much as 20x (yes, twenty times) over traditional methods. It’s more fun, too.
2. Activity pages in the Educators Edition usually start with the design video. You can play it right in class. The review videos are just for educators, with flip charts and downloads for you to use in your debrief. Super easy.
3. Quizzes: Most activities end with a quick quiz for your learners. It’s five questions and only takes a couple minutes. Make it part of your debrief and check their scores in the Quiz Reports panel under the Group Management tab.
4. The Final Quiz: The Learner’s Edition has a final quiz (called “Day 9”) with 40 questions. They need 85%, or 34/40 in order to pass.
5. We’ve worked hard to make this package easy for you to dive right into. A bit of prep the night before (for learners as well as educators) is well worth it to make the next day a big success for everyone.
